These are trying times for Americans all across the country. Gun violence, opioid addiction, and other ills make it hard to feel safe and secure in our communities, schools, and places of worship.
Far too many young people are being lost to drugs and violence. We will combat the opioid addiction epidemic by taking advantage of all county, state, and private resources to educate and assist residents in order to reduce unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations. And we will bring police, school officials, civic groups, and places of worship together to deliver a comprehensive safety plan for residents and our children. Nothing is more important to us than protecting our community.
